Alice's Adventures Off The Map

I'd prefer if Alice stayed on the map, if it's all the same. It's a title, a title of a competition; The Off The Map competition, this year based around Alice's Adventures Underground. Despite the shambles of organisation skills that occurred yesterday regarding group placements and the like, I'm incredibly excited by this project. Who wouldn't be, it's free reign. It has to be grounded in Lewis Carroll's literature, yes but everyone has a different interpretation of written stories. A good reason as to why this project will produce lots of diversity from the same beginning. Hopefully we'll have a good chance of winning it. The competition is split into three categories; Oxford, Underground and Gardens. I'm aiming for the garden category, simply because I feel it has most character. The category isn't entirely relevant though, as you can dabble between all of them. I mentioned the group placements-I'm not actually in one for seemingly no other reason than numbers can't do that. Which is all fine and dandy minus any actual reason for being so. Of course working on your own, you have to compromise. You can't make a whole game like everyone else. But me, being my stubborn ambitious fueled self said screw it, I'm making a game too. I'm aiming more for an interactive first person environment. A really high polished, good-looking environment with some nice art direction. The idea so far is to start outside the Queen of Heart's palace/castle and work your way through to the gardens with painted roses and all the intricacies of the book. I've already done a little bit of concepting.
